Join avid baseball historian and local author Geoffrey Dunn as he explores Harry Hooper's Hall-of-Fame career in baseball and his life in Capitola following his retirement from the professional game. "While you could take Hooper out of professional baseball, you couldn't take the baseball out of Harry," Dunn says.
The author of "Santa Cruz Is in the Heart," Dunn will remind us that Capitola was always in Harry's heart, too.
The free lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 420 Capitola Ave. A reception at the Capitola Historical Museum follows. The museum's exhibit "Take Me Out to Capitola: The Life and Times of Harry Hooper" runs through Dec. 28.
