The Art & Cultural Commission has a rich tradition of providing the community with a variety of visual and performing arts events. The Wednesday night Twilight Concerts are held throughout the summer in Esplanade Park, featuring live bands and one of the largest dance floors around. Select summer Sundays offer Makers Markets, showcasing quality art vendors. Family-friendly Movies on the Beach take place on Friday evenings in August and September. Dueling Pianos brings two talented pianists together in a musical showdown full of crowd favorites. Artists from all over come to Capitola throughout the week for Plein Air.
Movies begin at dusk. All movies are shown on the bandstand stage in Esplanade Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring seating. Low back chairs and blankets are recommended. Consider bringing a picnic dinner, or dine locally at area restaurants. No alcohol or dogs on the beach.
All events are funded through sponsorship. Please contact Kelly Barreto capitolarecreation@ci.capitola.ca.us or 831-475-7300 ext. 297 for more information.
