NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Capitola on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, for the following officers:

Three (3) Members of the City Council

(Full term of four years)

Pursuant to California Elections Code §12112, the following information pertinent to candidacy is hereby provided:

Capitola City Council Candidate filing period begins Monday, July 14, 2014. The County Clerk/Elections Department in conjunction with the City of Capitola have arranged a June 30, 2014, Candidate Information Night, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Capitola City Council Chambers located at 420 Capitola Avenue, Capitola. The County Election staff and the City's Election Official will be present to answer any questions potential candidates may have. 2014 Capitola Rod and Custom Classic Car Show June 7th and June 8th

On June 6 and 7, Capitola Village streets will fill with more than 300 Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Coupes, Roadsters, Customs and Classics – vintage to 1972; plus Vendor Booths, Music, Silent Auction, Raffle, Trophies, Nascar race cars, and more. Enjoy a weekend filled with awesome cars, great music, charming shops, restaurants for every taste, and family fun at the beach!

Marathon and Half Marathon go through Capitola.  Parking will be limited in Capitola Village from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Join Capitola Historical Museum Curator Frank Perry on May 17 for a walking history tour from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. He’ll cover current museum exhibit subject Harry Hooper and the development of the City in the early to middle 1900s. Follow the link below for more information.
