Join avid baseball historian and local author Geoffrey Dunn as he explores Harry Hooper's Hall-of-Fame career in baseball and his life in Capitola following his retirement from the professional game. "While you could take Hooper out of professional baseball, you couldn't take the baseball out of Harry," Dunn says.

The author of "Santa Cruz Is in the Heart," Dunn will remind us that Capitola was always in Harry's heart, too.

The annual Capitola Village Children’s Halloween Parade will be Sunday, Oct. 26. The line-up begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Village and Beach Parking Lot 1 behind Capitola City Hall. The parade begins at 2 p.m. and heads down Capitola Avenue through the Village. It ends at Esplanade Park, where there will be refreshments. Participants may trick-or-treat in Capitola Village shops following the parade. The event is sponsored by the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce and Capitola Village Businesses. The 2014-15 Water Tour series is here!  Join the Coastal Watershed Council and fisheries biologist, Don Alley, to see the fish of Soquel Creek up close!  At this family-friendly tour, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about fish ecology, see living fish, and even get involved!
