Council Approves Three November Ballot Measures

At its July 26 meeting, the City Council  placed three measures for voter approval on the November ballot:

  • A cannabis business tax
  • An increase in the Transient Occupancy Tax allocating dedicated portions to youth and early childhood programs and to local business groups for marketing and community improvements, and the balance to fund core City functions
  • Changing the City Treasurer from an elected to an appointed position

The City of Capitola will hold its General Municipal Election concurrently with the November 6, 2018, statewide election. Deadlines for arguments for and against the measures have been set at 5 p.m. on August 17 to match those of Santa Cruz County Elections. See the notices below for more information.
