June 30, 2014 Candidate Information Night

Capitola City Council Candidate filing period begins Monday, July 14, 2014. The County Clerk/Elections Department in conjunction with the City of Capitola have arranged a June 30, 2014, Candidate Information Night, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Capitola City Council Chambers located at 420 Capitola Avenue, Capitola. The County Election staff and the City's Election Official will be present to answer any questions potential candidates may have. Notice of Public Hearing - Disaster Recovery Initiative Grant

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the hour of 2:00 pm, the City of Capitola Community Development Department will hold a public hearing to discuss the accomplishments and Final Products of a Disaster Recovery Initiative (DRI) grant from the State of California Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The DRI grant provided funding for the City’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) and the Safety Element Update.

Capitola McGregor Park Donation And Sponsorship Program

The Capitola City Council recently authorized a multi-use recreational park at the
City-owned McGregor Drive property, located near the entrance to New Brighton State Beach.
The new park will have three components; skate park, dog park and bike park. In an effort to
meet the needs of the community, each of these elements are expected to be enjoyed by users of all ages.
