School Break Camps

Out-of-school camps for 1st-5th graders (ages 6-11 years old) at Capitola Community Center.

Overview:

Age Group: 1st-5th graders
Program Hours: 9:00 am 12:30pm and 1pm- 4:30 pm.
Location: NBM or Capitola Beach 
What to bring: lunch and water, two snacks are provided
Space is limited, so early sign-up is recommended.

Scholarships:

The Capitola Public Safety & Community Service Foundation offers scholarships for children who may not be able to afford the program. Scholarship applications should be submitted as soon as possible, and the scholarship committee will review the applications and award scholarships as soon as possible.

Sample Daily Schedule:

AM CAMP

• 9:00am: Student check-in @ New Brighton Middle School, Rm 22

• 9:15am: Camp Activity

• 10:15am: Snack

• 10:30am: Camp Activity

• 12:00pm: AM only camper pick up @ New Brighton Middle School, Rm 22 

AM to PM CAMPERS (Adventure & JG)

• 12:00pm - 12:30pm: Lunch NBMS

PM JUNIOR GUARDS Campers

(We recommend all participants bring a thick wetsuitt. If you do not have one, please contact bhoward@ci.capitola.ca.us) 

• 12:30pm: Walk down to Capitola Beach **IF participating in AM CAMP, otherwise...

• **1:00pm: Drop off up @ Esplanade Park in Capitola (PM ONLY JG Camp)

• 1:30pm: A game or activity 

• 2:00pm: Snack

• 2:30pm Water Activity  • 3:30pm

  • 4:00pm student pick-up @ Esplanade Park in Capitola 

• We kindly request that you pick up your student no later than 4:30 p.m.

PM ADVENTURE CAMP

• 12:30pm: Drop off @ New Brighton Middle School, Rm 22 & Transport to field trip locations

• 1:00: Adventures (hiking, tide pools, beach day, etc.)

• 2:30pm: Snack  • 3:00pm: Transport to NBMS

• 4:00pm - 4:30pm: Student pick-up @ New Brighton Middle School, Rm 22
