• Salary Range: $31.95 - $38.84 hourly

The Coordinator of Beach Lifeguard Services is responsible for the overall coordination, supervision, and administration of the Capitola Beach Lifeguard Service and Junior Guard Program.

• The ideal candidate will possess the experience and qualifications necessary to serve as an Open Water Lifeguard Instructor, including a minimum cumulative total of 1,000 hours of employment over no fewer than three seasons as an open water lifeguard with a USLA-certified agency. Candidates must hold a current emergency medical response certification and have the ability to obtain American Red Cross Instructor certification.

Capitola operates one of the region’s largest Junior Guard programs, serving more than 900 youth each summer and hosting local competitions. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong passion for Junior Lifeguard programs, along with excellent administrative skills and the ability to communicate professionally and collaboratively with staff, participants, families, and the public.

• Seasonal Tower operations run seven days a week from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, with weekend operations continuing through October 31.
