Beneath the Surface

This piece emerged while exploring different textures during the underpainting process. Living in Santa Cruz especially, I feel a deep connection to the ocean and a call to protect it. From this piece I have began a series focused on bringing attention to different sea creatures, ones that many of us will never see with our own eyes yet live complex lives beneath the surface. I hope to bring awareness to the issues our beautiful ocean is facing and inspire others to learn more about ways they can help heal our seas.
