Inside out

Artist: William S Muir
Media: Acrylic 6"x12"

Painting is always a learning experience. I like details, and sculpt layers with the pallet knife. I enjoy playing with composition in colorful interesting ways. I have been painting small again for a number of years, and look forward to the larger works where the marks and expression can be more fully explored. Life and living in 2020 has really been an environment for much more thought. Exploration has turned more inward, for many.
As our world keeps changing, so does the painting. Change allows for new and unexpected results. Change is a constant, and keeps life interesting. From the assuredness that the sun shall rise, to the smell of clean sheets: Consistency is a positive and wondrous force also. As an artist I look forward to giving hours on end to art and to craft. To share, give and receive energy with life is truly important. Age and tenure gives me a-little insight into my own composition, and what I am made of. With at least thirty good years left in me to make art; I have goals and dreams I shall keep working on.
I have lived in Santa Cruz thirty years and making it here thirty, or forty more years is an exciting thought. As much as things change much stays the same. This area offers a world of expressions and landscapes. The individuals are plentiful, and the waters and forest abundant. Art is an expression from mind and body. Santa Cruz allows for expression of infinite possibilities. Handmade art in all ways holds life. Digital art can be amazing and is proving to evoke emotion and expression. I love all art forms, and have always appreciated movement and form. My dreams are serious and my goals are real. I am an artist.
