Secure the Call Cell Phone Donation Program

The Capitola Police Department is partnering with Secure the Call, a non-profit organization dedicated to the collection of used cell phones to be used for accessing 911 services. Secure the Call has partnered with over 350 Law Enforcement Agencies nationwide in their collection effort. Participating agencies ship the collected cell phones to Secure the Call for servicing and usable cell phones are shipped back to agencies for distribution to battered women and seniors in need. The cell phones provide recipients access to 911 services and cellular service may be activated at the recipient’s expense. 

Cell phone donations are accepted at the Capitola Police Department Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Friday’s 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Seniors and battered women who reside within the City of Capitola may request a cell phone free of charge by contacting Detective Moreno at (831) 475-4242 or via email at Lmoreno@ci.capitola.ca.us.
