The Coastal Commission will be reviewing the City of Capitola's Local Coastal Plan (LCP) Amendment to parking rates on August 10th. The Capitola Police Department will host National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jade Street Park. The event will feature free BBQ, a meet and greet with the Chief and other police officers, and fun & games for all.

With the winter storm damage to the wharf, we will be unable to hold the Fishing Derby event. However, we are adding a Paddleboard Race this year! The scenic six-mile race is run on gently rolling hills in local seaside streets. The weather conditions for race morning are typically perfect: cool, 60 degrees, calm and foggy, but by noon, the skies are clear and warm. The Finish Line is at the corner of Cliff & Wharf Road by the Capitola Wharf.
