2025-2027 Community Grants Program

The City of Capitola is pleased to announce the availability of funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26 – FY 2026/27 Community Grant Program.

The Capitola Community Grant program includes $125,000 in general funding and at least $45,000 in restricted Early Childhood and Youth Programming (ECYP) funding.

The Capitola Community Grant program is open to 501c(3) non-profit organizations and is intended to support local groups that provide community, environmental, and/or social services that benefit the City and enhance the well-being of Capitola residents.

General Fund Grants will be awarded based on three Conditions for Health and Well-being:

  • Stable, Affordable Housing and Shelter
  • Health and Wellness
  • Healthy Environments

ECYP Grants will be awarded to organizations and programs that serve children and youth, with an emphasis on programs that benefit pre-school-aged four-and-five-year old children.

The Community Grant Program features a two-year cycle, with approved funding amounts paid in two installments each year, based on the initial funding recommendation by City Council. This funding recommendation is anticipated in October.

The City Council will consider applications for the following two grant types:

  1. Operational: Up to $7,500/year to support general operating costs
  2. Outcome: More than $7,500/year to support implementation and/or evaluation of a specific program or outcome.
