Sports Rentals

The City of Capitola Recreation Department handles rentals for the following facilities:

• Monterey Park
• Jade Street Softball field
• Jade Street Soccer field
• Jade Street Tennis Courts
• Jade Street Basketball Courts

Sports Facilities Use Categories

All groups using city or school facilities must provide a certificate of insurance naming the City of Capitola, and the Soquel Elementary School District as additionally insured. Fees are charged as follows:

Category 1: No Charge

• Soquel Elementary School District
• City of Capitola
• Capitola Recreation Department

Category 2: Administrative Fee Only

• Non-profit youth-oriented organizations. The group must show proof of their status and the activity being conducted must not be for fund-raising purposes.
• Currently registered Capitola Recreation sports league teams (using the fields or gymnasium).

Category 3: Direct Costs Charges (per Civic Center Act; during regular custodial hours)

• Non-profit groups who do not qualify under Category 2; the activity being conducted must not be for fund-raising purposes.
• Groups which are community-oriented or civic in nature, holding an event which is open to the general public and is advertised as such, and for which there is no charge or solicitation for contributions or donations.

Category 4: Fair Rental Value (per Civic Center Act; during regular custodial hours)

• Events or meetings at which admission fees are charged, contributions are solicited and net receipts do not benefit the pupils of the Soquel Elementary School District.
• Commercial or Private Groups.

An additional cost may be charged for a Capitola Recreation staff person to either prep the site or supervise the activity.
