Local Coastal Program Updates

The City is currently working on a Cliff Drive Resiliency Project. As part of this project, the City must update sections of the Local Coastal Program.  The City's Local Coastal Program is the guiding policy and regulatory framework for development and resources within the City's coastal zone.

Capitola Wharf Master Plan

The City of Capitola is excited to announce the development of the Capitola Wharf Master Plan. This initiative aims to shape the future of the Wharf with input from our community members through an extensive public outreach and participation process.

Other Housing Resources

Housing Choice Vouchers: The Housing Authority of Santa Cruz County administers the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program for Capitola residents. The HCV program, also known as “Section 8”, provides rental assistance to low-income individuals or families.  Once a family receives a voucher, the family finds its own rentals from homes and apartments on the private market. The family pays about a third of its income in rent to the landlord, and the Housing Authority pays the rest, up to a certain limit, directly to the landlord.

BCycles Coming Soon to Capitola

BCycle is currently installing approximately 50 e-bikes and100 docks at 18 different sites within Capitola city limits. Bikes will "go live" on Monday, April 8.
