The City of Capitola is currently recruiting for the position of Beach Lifeguard Lieutenant/Junior Lifeguard Coordinator.  The Beach Lifeguard Lieutenant Position is a Part-Time/Seasonal position, not to exceed 960 hours in a calendar year. Candidates for the Beach Lifeguard Lieutenant/Junior Lifeguard Coordinator must be available for full-time employment (40 hours per week) for the summer months (May through August).

The City Council will meet on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers to recite the results of the election, administer oath of office of newly elected officials, recognize its outgoing elected officials, and reorganize its members by selecting a new Mayor and Vice Mayor.

New Capitola Police Chief Terry McManus sworn in on Monday, December 5, 2016

Terry McManus has been selected as the City’s new Police Chief. Terry will be responsible for continuing the community’s high level of policing services, growing successful public safety outreach programs, and at the same time, providing an important perspective on the City’s management team. Terry joins Capitola after serving the City of San Diego Police Department for 30 years and served most recently as Assistant Chief of Police in charge Centralized Investigations.
