To respond to pandemic related health orders and restrictions, many Village businesses have participated in the City’s temporary outdoor activity permits that allow for outdoor seating in parking spaces in front of their businesses. Now that these restrictions are ending, there is interest in developing an outdoor dining program in the Village and we want your input!
The Capitola Community Room at City Hall is serving as an early voting service center for the March 3 Primary Election. Voter Service Centers will be open on Saturday and Sunday, February 29 and March 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Monday, March 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Election Day, Tuesday, March 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The American Lung Association in California has released the State of Tobacco Control 2020 - California Local Grades. Due to the Capitola’s recent addition of a Tobacco Retail License (TRL), including a ban on the sale of flavored tobacco products, Capitola has gone from six total points to ten. This change boosted the City's overall grade from a C to a B.
