Capitola Wharf Past

PAST: The Capitola Historical Museum produced a short video history of the Capitola Wharf that can be found following the link below. 

  • 1857 – 450-foot wharf known as “Soquel Landing” built for F. A. Hihn by carpenter Sedgwick Lynch. Since construction, the Wharf has sustained significant storm damage throughout the years and repaired after each event.
  • 1979 - The County transferred ownership of the Beach and Wharf to the City of Capitola, and the Wharf was renovated by City through 1982
  • 2000 - Wharf was renovated by City and Wharf gate dedicated in 2002
