Wharf and Jetty Rehabilitation Workshop April 9

On April 9 at 6 p.m., the City will hold a public workshop to discuss plans for the Wharf and Jetty rehabilitation projects. The focus of the workshop will be to define and develop conceptual plans and uses for the wharf and review of jetty refurbishment plans. The workshop will be held in the City Hall Community Room.

Capitola Branch Library Approved General Contractors

The attached list are the general contractors who have been pre-qualified and can submit construction bids for the Capitola Branch Library Project.

It is currently anticipated that the bid documents, including plans and specifications, will be distributed on or around May 1, 2018.

The proposed new library will be a 11,700 square-foot single story building positioned in the south-east corner of the 47,536 square-foot parcel, located at 2005 Wharf Road, in Capitola, CA.

Jewel Box Traffic Survey

Below are the survey results from the Jewel Box Traffic Survey submitted by December 8, 2017.  A report on this survey is currently scheduled to be presented to the City Council on January 25, 2018.

New Capitola Branch Library

The City of Capitola has been planning to build a permanent library branch since the temporary structure opened on Wharf Road in 2000. In January 2017, the City Council approved a $13.15 million budget for an 11,700-square-foot facility at the same Wharf Road location. The schematic designs for the new library were approved by City Council in early 2017.  The project designs are expected to be finalized this winter, with construction starting in 2018.

New Library Taking Shape with Community Input

The Capitola City Council and Library Advisory Committee will consider approving schematic plans for the new Capitola Branch Library on March 23. The designs were presented to the community March 8 and reflect input from an earlier public workshop. Click on the file below to view images.
