At 1:10 pm, the Capitola Police Department was notified by Santa Cruz County Office of Emergency Services that Santa Cruz County has been removed from the scheduled 11/20 public safety power shutoff. We encourage you to monitor local news, PG&E website, and other trusted social media sites as well as Nextdoor for updated information as it becomes available.

2020 Capitola Local Government Academy Deadline Extended

Application Deadline Extended until December 18th.

The City of Capitola is pleased to announce the 2020 Local Government Academy. The Academy consists of a series of evening workshops intended to offer residents an overview of how local government works. The program is designed to promote civic participation, help residents better understand how our City works, and frame the City’s role in the larger community.

Oct. 29 PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff

UPDATE: Late Monday, October 28, PG&E withdrew the Capitola area from this planned outage.

PG&E has announced a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that may affect parts of Capitola starting early in the morning on Tuesday, October 29.  City staff believes that the same areas impacted by earlier power shutoffs will lose power during the October 29 PSPS.
